I installed the WD Smartware installer and it doesn’t show a backup target. I tried to go through the start menu and backup and the computer can’t find the device. Local PC Security, End Point Protection, Anti Virus or Malware protection software isn’t configured to Allow WD Backup, and the WD Backup Drive Helper process does not start when the WD Backup program is started. But my computer doesn’t show there is anything in that drive. When I run the Customize Backup for the Server wizard, the drive appears but has No Disk Label as the drive name even though it is named. WD Backup no backup targets found issue is caused by two main reasons. One of the reasons why your Mac cannot read WD external. Before I start my backup I can see and use the WD Elements 2TB usb drive when I select Computer from the Start menu. Every time I connect my 1 TB WD Elements external drive to MacBook Pro, the drive does not.
